Texell Serves Foundation Donates $5,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Texell Serves Foundation donated $5,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Temple, Texas. To select the recipient, Texell members voted for their favorite charity from a list of 14 nonprofits in Central Texas.
The donation was presented by Tony Hale, the Foundation Chair, and Dr. Lynn Eaton, Foundation Board Member, to Shannon Gowan Dean, Chief Executive Officer of RMHC, on September 21, 2026.
The mission of RMHC is to offer support to families when their child is hospitalized for extended periods due to serious illnesses or injuries. The Ronald McDonald House of Temple provides a “home-away-from-home” at little or no cost with 18 family bedrooms and amenities for a caring, comfortable atmosphere.
“This donation is a reflection of our members’ vote of confidence in the mission and our team’s admiration for the work they do,” said Tony Hale, Chairman of the Texell Serves Foundation Board of Directors and President and CEO of Texell Credit Union. “We’re honored to support the Ronald McDonald House and the families whose lives are impacted here every day,” he continued.
Formed in July 2025, the Texell Serves Foundation contributes to and participates in philanthropic efforts that benefit Central Texas. Last year, the first donation from the foundation was made to Family Promise of Bell County, a nonprofit that provides transitional housing for families experiencing homelessness to empower them to achieve sustainable independence.
The roots for the foundation began in 2015 with Texell Serves, events that allow the credit union’s employees to volunteer for nonprofits in the communities where they live, work, and play. Texell Serves supports RMHC once a quarter with employees preparing meals for a week.
For more than a decade, Texell Serves has helped thousands of families at food pantries, donated hundreds of units of blood at drives benefiting Carter BloodCare and Baylor Scott & White (BS&W) Blood Center, and supported older adults during Be a Santa to a Senior. Other nonprofits that benefited from Texell Serves include Sleep in Heavenly Peace, the Alzheimer’s Association, Texas Baptist Children’s Home, and Foster Love of Bell County.
