Business Spotlight on Gill Construction
Using cutting-edge technology to create lifelike 3D renderings, Gill Construction helps homeowners design, build, and remodel. Owner Steven Gill has worked in the industry his whole life and decided to open his own business in 2015. He incorporated the business in 2019 and began looking for commercial space to hold offices and a shop.
When he needed help with funding for this space, he reached out to Texell’s Commercial team. Commercial Business Analyst Summer Owens started the application process for a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, and Commercial Support Specialist Camille Lobato also assisted during the loan.
“They stepped in and said, we’re going to make it happen,” said Steven. “They got us over the hump and got it done.” Steven’s business is also customer centric, with the goal of having the best customer experience. His team provides clarity and transparency, so they know exactly what they’re going to invest in. When a new customer reaches out, they’ll ask questions about their project and timeline. If the project aligns with the services Gill Construction offers, they’ll schedule a site consultation to outline the contract.
“Our design consultant will meet with the client to gather detailed information and discuss our comprehensive design and development process,” said Steven. “The consultant then creates highly detailed renderings that accurately showcase the specific materials and products the client envisions for their space.”
"These renderings provide the client with a clear and realistic visualization of the outcome, while also serving as a blueprint for our construction team,” Steven explained. “The consultant can also develop a cost estimate and guide the client through our transparent, no-surprise-charges contract.” After obtaining bids from various tradespeople, Gill Construction delivers a comprehensive, fixed-price contract that outlines the project scope and final cost.
“We’re offering you a fixed price for your project, with no hidden costs or surprises. The only exception would be if we uncover a major, unforeseen issue like termite damage behind a wall. However, with our experience, we’re very good at identifying potential problems beforehand. We want you to have complete confidence in knowing the exact cost of your investment upfront.”
Although Gill Construction remodels mostly kitchens, bathrooms, and additions, Steven is also passionate about designing remodels for those who are aging-in-place and need to meet ADA compliance. Another passion is helping young adults with skills they may not have learned in school. He wants to open the opportunities that the trades offer and help those in technical programs by providing a safe entry into design, remodeling, and construction.
