Business Spotlight on Perfect Pair Sips & Boards

Charcuterie boards recently gained popularity in the U.S., but these dishes reach back past many centuries and cultures. Perfect Pair Sips & Boards’ co-founders, LaToya Easter and Kristin Gunter, welcome guests on a culinary journey at their restaurant. They turned an empty lot into an exceptional dining experience with help from Texell’s Commercial team.

“About a year and a half ago, I started looking for financial institutions, and Texell was the only one to come out and see the space,” said LaToya Easter. “They learned about the concept and really showed that they cared. I’ve never had a bank care so much about my business and being invested in every single part.”

The restaurant concept came from the co-founders’ years of traveling and experiencing other cultures, food, and wine. Over the past three years, they’ve embarked on a quest to craft the ultimate wine and mixology bar lounge. Their goal is to welcome everyone like at a 5-star resort to sit and share the experience. Most customers spend 90 minutes to two hours enjoying food, wine, and company.

“It’s important that our guests know we care about them and are always striving to make everything better,” said Latoya. “We’re very intentional about every detail. It took us 10½ months to hand-select the wines and cocktails, then decide what to serve with them. Our servers take wine courses and outside training so that they know about the wine regions, varietals, and processes of making wine to know what to suggest for pairings.”

The pairings range from small bites boards to full infusion boards that feed four to six people. Customer favorites include the Big Texas with a Tempranillo or the Opa! with Greek-inspired bites and an ouzo cocktail. The owners recommend the La Familia board or Traditional small bites board with a sparkling rosé. Brunch and dessert boards are also available. Guests can reserve the lounge for private or semi-private events.
