This initiative benefits various worthy causes in the communities where they live, work, and play. Team members have volunteered hundreds of hours each year, and 2024 reached new milestones with 1,061 cumulative volunteer hours and a 94% participation rate.

Texell Serves distributed food to 4,674 families at food pantries across Central Texas, including Brighter Days in Leander, The Caring Place in Georgetown, Shepherd’s Heart in Hewitt, Love of Christ in Temple, and Churches Touching Lives for Christ in Temple. Employees also rolled up their sleeves and donated 140 units of blood for Carter BloodCare and Baylor Scott & White (BS&W) Blood Center. The final blood drive of the year with BS&W in November boasted the most donors of their blood drives since 2012 with 41 donors.

“Texell makes a difference in all the communities we serve, not just by offering exceptional service, but by volunteering our time to benefit those who need it most,” said Monica MacKay, Texell Serves Committee Chair.

Employees with the most volunteer hours receive the Diamond Award, and these achievements are celebrated at a luncheon. Hector Cerrato, Loss Mitigation Specialist at Texell, volunteered at the most events, successfully reaching a triple-Diamond Award status.

“I really enjoy volunteering with Texell Serves because it allows me to be part of a team that positively impacts the communities we serve,” said Hector Cerrato. “It allows me the opportunity to meet and connect with other like-minded people that really want to make a difference in our communities.”

Besides helping at food pantries and blood drives this past year, Texell Serves also built beds for the first time at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit dedicated to providing beds for children in need. The lunch-packing events continued for Feed My Sheep, and this non-profit also asked for volunteers to help at their farm, another new event for Texell Serves this year. Other events included fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Association at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, collecting items to benefit Closet of Hope, participating in Christmas in July benefitting Foster Love of Bell County, and purchasing gifts for Home Instead’s Be a Santa to a Senior.
